Dr Abdul Razak Ahmad, the Founding Director of Bait Al Amanah had the pleasure of meeting with His Excellency Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of Somalia, in Doha.
Their productive discussion highlighted the critical importance of accessible and quality education in navigating the nation's post-conflict situation. Following decades of conflict and the effects of natural disasters, the number of displaced Somali people has surged to 3.8 million and more than three million students faced barriers to education. Poverty, safety concerns, and inadequate teachers and facilities hinder students from going to school and receiving a good education.
In the meeting, Dr Abdul Razak emphasized that revitalizing the education system serves as a key strategy for rebuilding Somalia and commended the Federal Government of Somalia's dedication to steering the nation towards a brighter and more resilient future.
