Benedict Weerasena, Research Director of Bait Al Amanah was interviewed by Astro Awani right after the Budget was released, on his perspective of the hits and misses of Budget 2025. He spoke on the government’s commitment to narrow the fiscal deficit; on the positive reforms in moving from blanket subsidies on RON95 petrol, education and healthcare towards targeted subsidies; as well as further reforms needed to consolidate poverty alleviation programmes.
